And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I used to think, as a teenager in the late 70's/early 80's, that the javelins like that were weird and ugly. Now? My opinions have changed dramatically. They are gorgeous. the lines are stunning. But, finding parts for one would be like searching for the Holy Grail!!
That particular car is highly customized, stretched/altered from the a pillar forward, it's exceptional.....built by the RingBrothers. The build is a good read.
The Javelin ( not 2seater amx)won trans-am in 71/72and 76. Not bad for AMC.
ReplyDeleteBest pursuit car ever made. Supposedly, no one ever successfully got away from a Alabama Trooper in a Javelin.
ReplyDeleteYou can see the last surviving member of the state troopers javelin at The archives in Montgomery Alabama

ReplyDeleteThey did a great job of modernizing it without sacrificing its identity. And I'm not a huge fan of AMC.
DeleteFantastic !
ReplyDeleteThe AMX was always an interesting car too.
I believe the Arizona Highway Patrol used
the AMX as an interceptor
I’d take a bone-stock Javelin over this monstrosity any day of the week.
