Maybe its real

  1. Most probably real. Looks like the plane used to do the first long endurance via inflight refueling flight.

    It wasn't until WWII that really big planes stopped having access passages for the flight engineer to service engines in flight. Especially common with long-range flying boats of the passenger carrying kind.

  2. It appears to be Roy Mitchell and Byron K. Newcomb setting a refueled endurance record in 1929.
