And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Just off the Royal Mile and much closer to Edinburgh Castle than Hollyrood House. I had my Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) dinner there - haggis tatties and neeps (haggis, mashed potatoes and mashed turnips) and downed a couple of fine Scots ales before setting of for the Hogmanay celebrations. They throw one hell of a party in Edinburgh!
I fell in love with a young woman (Miss Ferguson) in the spring of 1970 in Edinburgh. Prince's street park below the castle probably still has our imprints in the grass. BTY. Rampant Clam is that floral clock still in the park on the east end?
