And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
1971 Plymouth Cuda!!! I owned one in high school, many many many years ago. 340, 4 speed, fish gills on the front fenders, slotted mags with G60-15's on the back and 70's on the front!
I am older now and can't afford the cars I drove in high school!!!
In 79 when I was a senior in high school I had a 70 Cuda with a 440 single 4 barrel, 4 speed, and 4:10 posi rear end. Gas was 72 cents a gallon and if I left the car idling I could never fill it up as I got 8mpg if I was driving it easy - I didn't and usually got 6 mpg. Top speed was 118mph and it would do a quarter at just over 100.
The Bad: it had massive over-steer. As long as it was being driven in a strait line all was good. Any curves and the back end would get loose sliding around a corner if you kept the power applied.
I couldn't afford the gas to feed the monster and sold it for a 4 banger European car that got 35mpg (Fiat Spider 124 1800).
And you missed it 5 minutes after you left the dealers lot!!! I wish everyday I could have that car back....so many "firsts" were accomplished in that car! Won't go into them!!!
only car I have ever regretted passing by is a 1970 GTX-loved the front design-blue metallic paint and white roof bucket seats, 440 twin 4bbl. grabber hood four speed trans a no spin rear end and GOD alone knows how fast. power everything but no air conditioning. never test drive a great car on a hot sunny day. you will eventually regret it one way or another. Damn, I should invent a time machine so I can go back and get it. of all places to have that car, a VW dealer in 1972.
Pretty sure that's a Plymouth.
ReplyDeleteFix It Again, Tony !
