And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

British author George Beardmore finds a parachute mine. Sept 29, 1940
PBS had series called "Danger: UXB" a few years back. Starred Anthony Andrews as an ordinance officer who specialized in defusing unexploded bombs in WWII England. The German parachute mines were huge demolition weapons that were supposedly impossible to disarm. One chapter dealt with these things that were capable of leveling a city block. Excellent dramatic series that will keep you on edge. Kind of like chewing on tin foil.......
