And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Smoker's voice? Not so much. To me the smoker's voice is some leather-skinned, reptilian looking woman in Boca (but originally from Noo Yawk) with garish-but-expensive jewelry and too much makeup. "Dahling! Yer not lissening to me, dahling!"
I always liked "To Have and Have Not" better than "Casablanca" (and Bacall over Bergman). But it turned out that I just didn't understand Rick's perspective until my own experience of another 175-cm Swedish girl. Not that I'm bitter or anything.

She has always intrigued me. She is not my "typical type" but she has that sultry bad girl allure.
