And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Once I get my move finished off, I think this is going to be my next tool
I bought a miter saw as an impulse buy as I was walking thru a big box store. I built a stand for it (same height as the table saw) and set it where it was easy to get to. It did not take long before I wondered what I did without it!
Pro-tip: it gets placed such that you have a platform on either side (8' to either side is ideal, but you can make do with less if need be) at the same height as the saw's cutting surface, with its base inset downward to accomplish that, and the entire thing at or just above waist level, to facilitate handling your pieces.
Then, anything you're working with is supported on either side. Leave room behind for travel, and duct the sawdust below so it stays out of the way.
Be sure to get the one with the shadow laser. It is just a LED that is mounted behind the blade but it shows where both sides of the blade make contact unlike a laser that only gives one point. I have been doing this professionaly for 28 years and I love mine. I cut 80-100 peices of trim a day when I was still in the field with mine.

I bought the model with the double bevel, saw is very handy. I would recommend the stand with wheels, sort of heavy and awkward to move around
ReplyDeleteHad one for about 20 years. Best tool I ever owned.
ReplyDeleteThe wifely unit bought me a "chop saw". Doesn't have sliding part....bless her little heart.

I highly recommend it.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't much worth building with which it can't help.

Now, you're as good as any contractor's shop.
