  2. Yeah, my shovelhead was too, the trick was to bow three times in front of the motor while chanting " Oh mighty Harley Davidson before whom we are as naught, please start"
Didn't help much with the kicking, but you usually got enough of a crowd that they could give you a push!

    1. yeah, i'm not positive but the duel carbs look like tillotsons. i had a '68 ironhead with a magnito and a tillotson carb and it was just an absolut bear to start. having two of those carbs with a distributor adds a whole new level of fun. once i got that ironhead runing i wasn't shutting it off for anything. eventually moved on to an evo and never looked back. best engine the mothership made. i just turned over 189,000 on my '97 rk and it runs like a top and starts with one push of the magic button on the handlebar. these new guys have no idea how good thy have it.

  3. I've had a SU carb on my 1946 Harley since 1974.It can sit for 2 weeks then starts on the first kick. It has no choke and doesnt need one.The SU is the best carb ever made.I have two on my 1931 Ford too.
