And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Rob, that's a three link suspension with two lower arms and one upper in the middle attached to the brace over the diff. There's also a strap to limit the travel. That said, the buggy must be a sphincter clenching ride at anything not laser straight over 10mph.
No, they still need a panhard rod to keep things straight. Three link setups help with wheel wrap under acceleration, but the three links are typically parallel with the frame rails (front to back). My guess is this guy removed the panhard and sway bars to get the travel he needs and will put them back on for the drive home. That strap probably acts as a semi-panhard and keeps things from getting too cockeyed when he's doing this.
Huh, My Tbucket is coils and radius rods and there's NO WAY I'd motor it anywhere, even at idle without the panhard. Hell, just building it I could lean against the body without the RR installed and damn near push it far enough sideways to fall off the springs and pull the driveshaft outta the trans.
I am trying to figure out where in Florida that would have terrain like that unless it was a man made course.
ReplyDeleteWhat is that supporting the rear end?

ReplyDeleteDoes that 3rd link negate the need for a panhard rod? That whole setup makes me a little nervous...
