And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
As a kid I lived close to a US steel plant. It had a train that carried the slag pots along a hill side . At night when they would dump the pots it was like a volcano lava show as it splashed and rolled down the hill embankment. They even had a fence up and parking area it was so well liked.
There was a plant nearby, over in Ohio, that made steel alloys. A neighboring business took the dome-shaped boulders of slag that had been allowed to cool in pots and ran them through a VERY loud machine that cracked them into the green slag that you see on some driveways. The stuff is almost like glass.
