And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Friday Open Road
Just got back to the ranch last night from another week of training in LA. I've got two days at home, and I'm going to use them to get some stuff done around here, but also some relaxation time.
I had the exact same response to that photo. Although, truth to tell, two old predators like us, even now, get far too little tree time. There's always the need to kill a zebra or something to feed the pride.
I am a little confused, why ruin a 68 Dodge Charger by off-roading it and putting two spares like that in the trunk? I tend to be a purist, there are trucks for that carnage...
Any Friday Open Road collection with a VW is good, with two VW's it's GREAT! You even have an old International! I'm a VW bus guy even if I can't afford one today....
All great photos, but that VW bus heading to Ayers Rock, now called Uluru, brings back some wonderful memories.
I've climbed to the top, and the view is amazing! Almost slipped in one spot; if it hadn't been "almost," I wouldn't be posting this. ;-)
On my trip there I was driving a Leyland LD5 truck made into camper, and broke both front shackles holding the frame to the leaf springs; the next few hundred miles were spent driving crabwise! Not a lot of repair facilities out that way back in the early '70s.
That last photo looks a LOT like the west end of the Colorado National Monument as you descend towards the ranger shack. Spend a ton of time up there, in my '20 T R.P.U.
The lion in the tree reminds me of me.

DeleteSame here.
DeleteQuick, lets climb up here, lions don't climb trees!
