Should'a stayed home in bed

  1. a lot to be said for liquid "captain helper" and amateur boaters and "right of way". probably a combination of the three is what is going on here. I can hear the lawsuits already. having the coxswains wheel at the stern with structure to the fore probably didn't help the situation a whole hell of a lot. I was always taught that it takes at least two to make a accident happen in moving vehicles. I believe it was Rule 29 (or thereabouts) about avoiding the collision first and bitch about rights of way after.

  2. Blow boats aren't nearly as maneuverable as their powered counter parts.

    1. Sail boats are differently maneuverable...
      Usually they can turn much tighter/faster than a power boat, but they (sail) are limited in speed and direction of travel by the wind.
      That said, sail at dead stop vs power at dead stop... power boat usually can be maneuvering faster.
