And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My dad worked for Pan Am in the late 40's and early 50's. I took many flights in one of these beauties. We use to ferry them from NY's Idewild (now JFK) to Miami where Pan Am had a major Rotary engine overhaul facility. A great aircraft who's career was cut short by the advent of the jet engine.
Jets had a lot less maintenance because of the lack of vibration. cheaper fuels. longer TBO on engines. fewer parts to fail. customers satisfaction. faster. cleaner on the ground(engine oil dripping off of everything) easier to service. lots of different reasons including profitability. but By GOD what a ride!
