Please, please, Dodge, build this again.

Modern motor and drivetrain, maybe a few other modern features, but everything else just like this.

  1. What a beauty. Sadly if they started to make 'em like this again the price would be equal to the cost of two high end Teslas

    1. Reality rudely intrudes. That's undoubtable correct.

      Still...

    2. Maybe, but I'd still buy one.

  2. No way would Dodge sell enough of them to make it worth their while, but you could always buy one and restore/molest it to suit your tastes...

    1. I'd want it big, so I could intimidate the Prius's and the Morgans.

  3. I wonder if one could scavenge parts from other vehicles and make a scaled-down (3/4?) version. It's a pretty truck, but a bit bigger than most people would need I'd think.

  5. A common restore is to remove the body from the frame, restore, and place on a late model 3/4 or 1 ton diesel. I have a mechanic/machinist buddy that has a cab for a '55 that he has stretched 18" so he has behind the set storage.

He has a late 90's 1-ton extended cab that he rebuilt the running gear and suspension last year. He pulled the cab and bed off the 1-ton early November and is still mocking up the mounting points. The cab and doors are supposed to go off to the powder coaters in January. He needs to fab the running boards and get them set so he can fab the bed and have it powder coated soon after. He wants to have it finished by early April.

The last time I saw him and asked how his project is going he mentioned he could have bought a new Laramie 1-ton cheaper.
