Today the family drove north to the confluence of the north and middle forks of the American River for a mother's day picnic. 

While there, the 17 year old did some further experimentation with the neutral density filter, which allows long exposures in broad daylight.  These are some of the results.

All in all, a great time on a beautiful day.
