And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
We had one, passed thru family few times, think everyone ran it, i loved going for a cruise in it though i was way too young to legally drive it, very nice car every way, leather interior, power everything, big deal back then, rag top too, remember it had some kind of souped up engine, real class ride, you felt like royalty in it.
I grew up in South Bend in the 1950’s….Studebakers were 1 out of every 3 cars…their demise was totally unexpected…Hit South Bend hard…even the famed Avanti could not save the company…🤨
I had 3 Studey’s as a teen; two ‘53 and one ‘54 with a 289 V8 ‘56 Golden Hawk blower and 4-speed (3 on the tree delete). After many adventures, I sold it to my best friend before heading off to USMC boot camp (enlisted but #11 on the draft), who promptly totalled it. Unfortunately, their unibody frame’s are a bit rust-prone 70 years later.
Bench seat! Every pre-1970s teenager's dream!
ReplyDeleteLooks a lot like that Citroen of a few days ago but without the rear wheel skirt.
