Might be a good idea to have and to know how to use

  1. ...and remove it from the packaging so it is ready to use at a moment's notice.Seconds do count when these are needed, best not spend them fumbling with undoing the wrapper in a stressed situation

  2. Well, since I am not considering entering into combat, I guess this is not for me.

    1. Road accident? Tornado? Lots of things can result in traumatic injury requiring a tourniquet.

  3. Great as part of a blowout kit, have one in me car for emergencies, does not have to be combat related.

I agree to unpackage and also practice with it,get to know it well so you can use it with ease, and also, glove up before using, you afre helping people and do not deserve to get a infection ect.

  5. Thank-Goodness!! I looked at the picture and thought those were BAGPIPES.

Arterial bleeding is MUCH better than playing bagpipes. You would only WISH you were dead.

  6. At least two per vehicle go, get home, bag. At least two in your Individual, First, Aid. Kit, aka: IFAK. Best, cheap (relatively), life insurance.

  7. I keep 2 in my FA kit. One still in the package and the other already set up for a one armed application. Good stuff

  8. Please be aware that there are fake tourniquets out there ,,, especially of this particular style of TQ ,,,,, Please buy from a reputable medical supply source ,,,, not saying that these TQ's are bad but it's not worth the chance ,,,, do a search on "fake CAT Tourniquets" ,,,, https://www.rescue-essentials.com/rescue-essentials-blog/beware-fake-cat-tqs/ Also,,,,, please carry your TQ's ,,,,, if not for you then for someone else who might need one ,,,,,

    1. ^This, x10.
Get legit tourniquets from legit suppliers. 90% of what's on Amazon are inferior Chinesium knock-offs.
Which will fail when you need them most.
You don't get do-overs with TQs.

    1. Using what as a fulcrum, which you also have close at hand 24/7?
Held in place once tightened, by what?
Neither of which are pre-installed on your web belt, I'll wager.
      Just curious.

  12. I'm late to this thread and I'm surprised that someone else hasn't previously mentioned the Stop The Bleed courses. You can find one here. These courses are free and well worth your time. If traumatic bleeding is even remotely a possibility for you (car accident, hunting, shooting, power tools, etc.) and you decide to carry a tourniquet, you ought to know how to use it.
