And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Lions in LA. Don't let your little yap-dog out at night.
Los Angeles sprawls across the land. But in a number of places, a short walk takes one from urban concrete to open fields. Those fields connect with hundreds of square miles of untamed wilderness. The photo is alluring but not so unique. Four legged predators often wander through the human chaos. I think most city folks live in a bubble wholly ignorant of their close proximity. They squeal in fear when, say a mtn lion is seen ambling along.
Applies to most of Commiefornia. Here in middle Tennessee, fisk and wildlife will swear there are no mountain lions, bear or wolf, but they have all been caught on trail cams within a mile of my place. We have 2 large and 1 medium dog, they scare off everything so far. They have a 308 back up. Only had to shoot 1 stupid coyote so far. It's amusing to see what crosses the 200 yard driveway when the dogs are snoozed out on the porch.
TM. Here in the Keystone there used to be a “season” for yotes. They’ve become such an invasive animal there’s no season. We shoot them all year round, and it’s only put a dent in the population. The state originally released fishers here to combat the porcupines destroying rural cabins years ago. They’ve now become the yotes. They destroy huge turkey flocks, and can even take a small fawn down. SSS now… CIII

DeleteWe see stories of people out running and getting attacked, too.

Night time cats are snacks for Owls and Coyotes out here in Pueblo West.
