  2. Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre, Italy - fantastic location but hell to live there during tourist season (April to October)! The locals probably compare the tourists with locust: their overall, noisy, annoying, leaving desolation in their wake...

    1. In the summer our town of 3,000 would swell to upwards of 60,000.

      In spite of signs saying vehicles parked in driveway would be towed, there would be several parked in our driveway. They even admitted to seeing the signs. That was when asking where their car went.

      People would knock on the door to ask to use the bathroom. On occasion they came right in because they really had to go!
      And there would be others outside watching to see if the first got away with it.

  4. I'm too asocial for that place. I like less than 10 people/ 10 square miles myself. Too old for that now, I need the occasional doctor around and apparently that population won't support their practice....
