And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I'm thinkin' it was an almost empty load, on a very windy day, with something darn heavy waiting by the very back by the door for the last stop. So the ditch threw it back to the cab end immediately. All the weight on the front is throwing the trailer up and the wind is helping to turn it into almost a sail. Impressive screw up! Looks as though maybe everybody lived.
Looks like a Penske truck rental. Just from the blue stripe and fuzzy logo. I always used to tell my daughter when she saw a rental truck or a rental van, she should not drive too closely because it was likely just some typical car driver who needed a truck for a day and didn’t really know how to drive it. Looks like this was the spot in Canada for the gif: https://maps.app.goo.gl/avCPj1Hot6aQTkau9?g_st=ic
A cup of super hot coffee spilling in one's lap or the glowing tip of a cigarette dropping down into your T-shirt would probably prompt that kind of response.
That original front end lift was from running up the guy wire supporting the pole they knocked down. I suspect that was the cause of the rear end bounce when the front dropped suddenly.
wouldn't be the first time a driver fell asleep at the wheel

ReplyDeleteI think that he's empty.
DeleteIf he'd had anything in the truck it never would have come out of that first dip upright.

Absolutely!!! The less-than-mental-giant truck driver was f*cking with his cell phone.
ReplyDeleteSo you're sitting there, watching the news, sipping from your cuppa mud, loyal hound at your feet, and BOOM.

ReplyDeleteFirst law: objects in motion tend to stay in motion
ReplyDeleteIf you're going to screw up, make'em wonder how you did it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a wasp in the cab?

ReplyDeleteSleeping or texting. Driver error, either way.
