  3. What would be the purpose of such an oddly-shaped axe head? If it's hand-forged, there's going to be a lot of force on the welds with blows using the lower half of the blade. Curious.

    1. That's a Bearded axe. It was a very long-lasting design. The Ifugao head axe was even more stylized (headhunters in the Cordillera Central of Luzon).
