And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Photo of the drive thru at Carl's Jr. in Mammoth Lakes, CA. With over 400 inches of snow, Mammoth Mountain has become the snowiest resort this season.
It was 1983, or perhaps 82 when a USFS ranger died in am unusual way. He took refuge for the night in a hut in the back country. He never woke up.
This was at a time when a plume of magma was rising through the crust. It had gotten to within just less than 2 km below the ground surface. The hut was snow bound which allowed the toxic gases outgassing from the plume to fill the hut.
Shoveling snow in Mammoth is currently paying $30 to $35 an hour.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine the cost to businesses for removing the snow in the parking lots, next to the buildings and from the roofs?
Glaciacion may yet save us....
ReplyDeleteSo are they open for business? I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today!

A bag of burgers from Carls's Jr? I'd drag my balls through a mile of broken glass for a sack of those burgers.
