Lots of concern in my old stomping grounds south of Elk Grove. There's no dams on the Cosumnes River, so no flood control. Pineapple Express weather nearly always causes levee breaks and flooding.

  1. Just so you know... your governer Newsom ordered the dams opened up a while back and most haven't been closed since.

    1. Fun Fact: Lake Oroville, the largest reservoir under state control, had an outflow of Zero CFS last Friday, during which the lake rose five feet. Since Christmas Day, Oroville has risen sixty feet.

  2. I wonder if any of this rain is getting far enough inland to help refill some of the Colorado river system?

I got another 1.4" yesterday, and surprisingly was outdone by Sacramento. That doesn't happen verry often.
There's supposed to be another round coming in today, and more everyday for the next 8 days, save one. Then calm through the end of the month.

  4. Too bad the Sacramento River wouldn't wash the capital out to sea with everyone in it including and especially the gov.
