Giant Ship vs. Puny Human. Yet, one built the other.
One of the neatest things I did on a midwatch in Bremerton drydock, was dropping down through the cut open innerbottoms and walking around beneath the CV I'd sailed on for the past 5 years. Truly a view few ever get to see.
Dakota, I did the same sorta thing when the USS Los Angeles (SSN668) was in drydock at Pearl for an overhail in the 80s. Climbed in ballast tanks, out the shaft opening, into the sonar dome, through the torpedo tubes, the whole nine yards. It is truly a view few get to see.
I wonder if that's the new carrier, John F. Kennedy.
ReplyDeleteThe human may be puny but look what he built.

DeleteHumans can be very industrious when they put their minds to it. Think big!
