And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Retired airline pilot here, just shy of 25,000 hours over 42 years....
Yes, the old pilots/ bold pilots axiom applies, but a couple of other points occurred to me.
* Obviously, the guy dipping his wheel into the lake is there, but there is also a photographer involved. Both of these guys are nuts.
* It is a very cool picture, and to be the guy who could hang the original on his wall might give you some bragging rights. But what are the downsides here? And I'm not just talking about losing your license or even your life. If the worst happens, and your stunt takes you cartwheeling into the lake, you're going to miss walking your daughter down the aisle. You'll never hold your grandchildren. IMO, none of that is worth having that picture. Sorry, but this is juvenile and just plain dumb.
#1 not as dangerous as it appears, with a smooth approach you have to hold it on the water, kinda like barefootin, now if you drive it down onto the water things will happen, not fun things.
#2, I wonder if that was the Shasta Snow trip? Old buses (67 is the latest) make a run from Hwy 101 (Willits?) to Lake Shasta city. A yearly event.
#9, That is a road less traveled! The dream to see that in person faded away many years ago but it is a kick to see SpaceX rockets land like there are supposed to!!
Miss Eva zu did say she was looking for a cowboy to teach her how to ride a horse. Hopefully the cowboy she finds has a good stout horse because she looks like she would be a good rider.
Dangerous move in #1.
ReplyDeleteThere are old pilots and bold pilots but no old bold pilots. CY
DeleteThat was one hiccup away from disaster..
DeleteArt print called “death on still water”. Not really, but that’s what is about to happen.

ReplyDeleteNope, that is a major f'up. The water will grab the wheel and suck it in.
DeleteCartwheel into the water.
