And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
5.11 minimum. Was a 5.7 top-roper in NC. Watched a 5.12+ move in 1989 on The Grandfather Boulders before Hugh outlawed that. Vern was explosive. Fingernail, then OMG.
Wow! Just wow..
ReplyDeleteMust be pretty strong to hold that rock up.
ReplyDeleteChalk marks have closed a lot of places around here. Nice faces on public or private land now off limits due to careless climbers.
ReplyDeleteI never used chalk when I climbed. I was a solid 5.10, although I could manage a few 5.12 but a struggle.
Now it seems like every noob must have a bag o chalk and use it liberally. I guess its a prop for pjoto ops.
Chalk was not a problem since rain washes it away, but setting anchors bolts is a non-starter in most areas. Often better to top rope and free climb.
Delete...and if you was lookin' fer me, that'd be one place ya didn't have to look.
ReplyDeleteDon't look down.
