And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I once had the privilege, on the way from San Francisco to Japan, to see this scene while flying above the Golden Gate bridge looking like this. A lifetime memory.
I first saw the bridge one morning, coming into the bay on a Navy destroyer. The fog gradually lifted as we got closer, and by the time we were about to pass under it the deck was fully exposed.
Beautiful area, destroyed by leftists. I grew up there, and it was great at the time...
