Might be a good idea to set something like this up now before things get sporty.

Serious water storage for serious times.

  1. 38,000 gallons in the back yard. If that doesn't do it, screw it.

    1. We have 24,000. We're getting new gutters and downspouts installed next week and I'm ordering 2 55 gal rain barrels. Can't have too much water on hand and a means of replenishing it. Wish we had a pond and a solar powered/manual pump.

    2. Ghost, just installed in our well. Not bad cost wise, and works like a charm.

  2. I was vandwelling for awhile, my day to day water was in 1 gallon jugs. That made the 3 gallons a day I used easy to remember.

  3. I count my two 50 gallon water heaters as emergency water along with a 7-foot, 6-shelf garage storage rack full of bottled water and gatorade. Food, on the other hand would not be as plentiful. Maybe a few weeks once refrigeration/generator run out of juice.

  4. Thank God I live on a farm. Spring water is my water source. Also two streams and a pond. Water is not an issue.
