And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Well, if you are gonna need emergency food, a meat bucket might be something to stash. That and some hot sauce.
I have never eaten any Wise Foods products, the reason being that the user reviews have been so mediocre, at best. Here we have veat. It may be difficult to screw up meat.
SPAM---now available in many flavors. Good when I was a young kid, good when I'm 81. Just opened a can that was "best by 2015". Have been storing it in a pantry that varies between about 65 and 85 degrees. Also comes with Fat. I recommend it.
Spam is a near ideal way to store emergency rations of protein and fat. Mainly because I'll never be tempted to raid the stash short of dire need. There is a Spam WITH BACON!!! that I have not yet tried, but may be worth checking out.
60 servings, 4 servings per pouch is 15 pouches of meat in that bucket. 12 cans of Spam (a case on Amazon) is $35, you get 5 cases (60 cans) for the same money. I'll bet the bucket will last sitting on a (out of the way) shelf for years and years better than the spam. It's a different story if you use the Spam as part of your diet.
$47 / lb . ( $180 / 3.79 lbs). Canned meat has a shelf life of five years at much lower cost.
ReplyDeleteMeatbucket sounds like a good name for a rock band.

DeleteBest eaten in a dark room; you don't want to look too carefully at it.

And again, $$$$ better spent on a fishin pole.
