Water Storage

  1. It's a good idea if you have the space. Just remember, at more than 8lbs per gallon that thing will approach 500lbs full. Make sure your floor can handle it. Set it on a platform with 4" castors so you can scoot it around as necessary.

  2. It has a water treatment kit, not a filter--unless I missed something. The kit is good for four years. Killing viruses and bacteria in the water is not the same as filtering it.

Why not just get a barrel, a pump, and and a Sawyer Mini filter? The manufacturer claims that the filter is good for 100,000 gallons.

  3. 320 gallons stacked with a footprint not much larger than a 55 gallon barrel.
