    His path through life is lined by millions of Armenian dead: slaughtered, burnt, starved masses of humanity ... and never a word of compassion or regret by him or his successors.

      Atatürk (and his successors) as a committed realist? Maybe.
      Ultra-nationalists, cold-blooded mass murderers, ethno-fascist dictators, mega-corrupt sultans would appear as equally suitable descriptions.
