And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Mrs. CW's expression when I suggested driving back in one long day.
When I was hauling logs I'd probably have 200 miles done by 8 or 9 in the morning. That was back in the day of waking up to go to work before Johnny Carson had finished his monologue. Pre-log book days.
I am doing Atlanta to San Antonio right now. Sunday was the first travel day and it was NE Atlanta to Shreveport LA, an 8 & 1/2 drive with no stops. Were supposed to pick up my daughter in Dallas 3 & 1/2 hours away and head on to San Antonio. As of right now we are spending the night in Dallas and heading to SA tomorrow stopping in Austin for some shopping and bat cave attraction. We will pull into SA 10 or 11 pm.
I get the same thing. I spent 30 years as a trucker. My wife thinks anything over 200 miles requires 2 days.
