The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? There were reasons the old airmen called their machines "kites". Big (sometimes), draggy, relatively light, relatively fragile, fairly under-powered. I know nothing about that particular design, but here's one of my favorite airplanes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havilland_Dragon_Rapide. It came along only 8 years later but quite a number were made and some are still flying. I've read that they are kites, too. I just like it because it's charmingly odd, and stylish. If you're ever in the St. Louis area you could look at a Rapide here: www.historicaircraftrestorationmuseum.org
