That would be a cold and lonely place to fight a war from

  1. Guess you’d tie off before doing that roof job...geez, talk about exposure. But very cool.

  2. I doubt anyone will fight you for a parking spot.

  3. "A Soldier of the Great War", Mark Helprin- has a fictional account of the fighting in the Italian Alps- a great book, BTW.

  5. How the heck do you even get there? Is there a trail? I can't make one out. I bet that's where you go sent when you pissed off the commander.

  6. There is a Via Ferrata climbing route that takes you just past this.

It's an easy climb, despite the images depicting otherwise.

  7. I’d like to spend a couple of weeks there just to chill!

  8. Not knowing anything about the place, I'd guess it was more of a lookout or forward observer type place more than a fighting place. The wind in and around the valley alone would make marksmanship almost impossible.
