The order states any fines imposed between March 1, 2020, and March 10, 2021, fines imposed by any political subdivision of Florida related to local government COVID-19 restrictions are canceled.
The order goes on to say it can serve as a defense to the collection of those fines.
As an example, in Orange County, Florida, strike teams have been going into businesses, responding to complaints, ever since Mayor Jerry Demings signed an order in early December threatening fines of up to $15,000.
Strike teams. Strike. Teams.
Who would serve on such a thing, and be able to look at themselves in the mirror and not feel deep shame?
So far, 28 business owners have been fined $300 each for not following and enforcing in their businesses the county's mandatory mask ordinance and social distancing. In total, 156 others have gotten warnings.
The governor's executive order is a reprieve for businesses like Country House Restaurant in Winter Garden. Heather Wooding, the owner, was fined in December after several warnings and several customer complaints that some employees were not wearing masks.
Finally, some push back against the totalitarian Karens in government.
Good for him!
ReplyDeleteSlowly some sanity is coming back.
ReplyDeleteMayor Demings and his wife are quite the pair; neither has ever held a job outside government and are both quite wealthy. Keep your eye on Val Demings, a smiling viper who represents the Orlando district.
ReplyDeletePay attention to who the Karens are. ALL of them. This information will be important before year's end. Probably mid-summer. In a duel the first person NOT killed is the winner.

Look it up: Stasi, though knowing the propensity of democrats to give new names to things or even just change the meaning of existing words: 'Karens'.
Who would serve on "Strike Teams"? Power hungry control-freaks that's who. America has many more than its share from high ranking Federal & State political hacks right down to low esteem, insecure, self appointed neighborhood behavior-police.
ReplyDeleteStill, political theater! Locally, in Tampa, we have three restaurant/bars that have been ordered to close for three days as a punishment for not enforcing social distancing during that time frame. Their 'sentences' are to begin March 18th. (but no "fines"!)
ReplyDeleteWe here in Florida have a great governor, he would make an ideal president.
ReplyDeleteIf voting mattered
DeleteGuy is making a serious play for being the Presidential canidate in 2024.
