And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I have a buddy that has been grinding away on his for 30+ years. He has taken it to the upholstery shop a couple of times for a refresh but otherwise it keeps running.
Yeah that's me, in my youth. Just returning from a short backpacking trip up to the top of Salt Springs Reservoir, where the Mokelumne River comes into the lake. Good fishing up there. And just before it empties into the reservoir, it makes a big pool that's great for swimming, called the Blue hole.
I had an '87 version, with a 173 HP in line six and a 5-speed..I hauled two dirt bikes and camping gear all over Texas for a couple years. Rock solid. 'Course, I wasn't near as handsome...
I too had an '87 4x4 w/ 4 Liter I6. It ran great and very capable off road... BUT... it did not hold up to the daily rigors of a timberfallers rig. Replaced numerous trac bars, front brake rotors and several exhaust manifolds (more like headers really). Maybe it was the loose nut behind the wheel. Under 50,000 when I traded it in.
Best Jeep pickup by a Dam Site!
ReplyDeleteVery cool. An 86 or an 87?
