I'm an unrepentant sucker for a pretty face and have bought sooo many of these types of knives and have always been disappointed. Let me count a few of the ways: 1) Blade changes that require a little included tool that you can never find later. 2) Or require any tool at all (screwdriver or allen wrench or torx). 3) That have the latch positioned as this one is, and will open spontaneously when rubbed against anything. 4) Are razor sharp and the design is such that it will slice your finger when getting it out of your pocket. 5) Cannot be opened, locked, and closed with 1 hand. But I keep buyin' em...
Agree with shostsniper above, the old school 'nickel to turn screw to open handle' design is simpler and I don't recall any time having to need that blade extended away from hand. In fact, the closer blade is to hand, the easier it is to manipulate. At least that was what I expereinced.
