  2. Does the roll bar body hold the frame together? My neighbor had a Taco that broke the frame last year. It is in his back yard where one frame rail rusted through and the other the other was rotted enough to only bend. It is a 20 year old truck but it only had about 50K miles. It is a 4x4 that was never taken off road or had a heavy load in the bed. He used it to get pine straw and other home improvement items from Home Depot or to dive it when we have a snow day once every 3 years. He is looking for one with a high mileage wore out drivetrain to swap everything over. He has been looking for a year with no luck.

  3. Toyota had a recall on Tacomas and 4Runners back in the early 2000's for rusted frames. I asked the local dealer several years ago about it and he said he had a waiting list of 170 Tacomas to swap out. I don't think the neighbor is going to find one in the junk yard anytime soon.

  4. Yes. Call Toyota with your vin number and and ask politely. My 2017 Taco just had something(undercoating or sacrificical anodes or ?) done it it under some recall.

Supposedly, Toyota swaps out the damaged frame if you qualify.
