After SpaceX's SN10 Starship touched down on March 3rd, it seemed like the prototype made it out of its test flight unscathed. Unfortunately, the vehicle exploded on its landing pad around a minute later, creating a massive, highly entertaining inferno like its predecessors did. Now, Elon Musk has revealed what went wrong in responses sent to followers on Twitter.

And, like a true leader, he takes responsibility and continues to push forward, having learned important lessons.

  1. That's interesting, and a great response from a leadership position. I remember seeing what looked like an errant flame not associated with rocket burn, as the vehicle landed. I wonder what that was all about? it sure is fun watching them make steady progress at an impressive pace. Quite the compare & contrast to NASA's activities these days; NASA's Decision-by-Committee / Paralysis-by-Analysis and Death-by-PowerPoint approach is breath-taking in a different way.

  3. It's not Elon Musk's money....the money going up in flames is the money from "venture capital", tax dollars etc. As !omg as he can keep conning investors into funding SpaceX he can keep blowing up rockets. Musk was successful with PayPal...which he sold. THAT money is his....and I'm sure invested safely. All the money used to create Tesla, a company that only last year turned a profit. And that profit did NOT come from the vehicles. It came from Tesla selling EPA mandated "emissions credits" to other auto makers...yet another con game. Elon Musk will likely go down in history as the biggest con artist of them all. SpaceX moneyis also OPM....

    1. Is there another darker side to Musk's Space X ventures? Like global recognition satellites? Or is that just a urban myth?

  5. I'm not into hero worship.
Having said that... I follow EVERYTHING Elon Musk is doing, as it is both history in the making, and the most optimistic experience I've had in a long time. He also happens to be the only tech ceo that knows his Orwell.
