Think this might be worth a few bucks to see?

  1. The mini-series was pretty good, I thought. But then again, I like PDQ Bach.

  2. Well, David Lynch's version was pretty crappy, the mini-series was ok but still pretty unconvincing. Let's hope that Denis Villeneuve has a better understanding of Frank Herbert's vision and has been able to put that vision into a worthy film...

    1. Agreed....and I'm not holding out much hope with this new Hollweird version. Read Herbert's book(s)!...it's much much better. It could make a fantastic movie but in today's culture any movie attempt will be trashed for sake of PC.

  3. On the rave side it is one step above watching the NFL Social Justice warriors take to their knees.

  4. Why should we continue to support an industry that thinks us "commoners" are beneath contempt and preach to us about how we should live our lives instead of doing their jobs which is to entertain.

Screw these people and the private jets they ride in.

  5. From commenters I've seen elsewhere, it's more woke BS.
Chani's father, Leit Kynes, character by a black woman.
I haven't given any $$$ to the hollyweird industries for quite
a while, see no reason to start again.
Was a fan of Frank Herbert, a while back.

    1. That's a clue. If you can't stay true to the text nothing else matters.

    2. In an interview, one of the actresses reported that the director felt that "There wasn't enough strong female characters in the book".

      Can't have that.

    3. That statement of 'not enough strong female characters in the book' is
in itself evidence of more 'woke' bs.
The Bene Gesserit sisterhood are recognized as some of the most lethal
fighters in the imperium. Able to control their bodies to the molecular
      level.

  6. Well it seems this production was in the can before Hollyweird imposed the new diversity requirements, so maybe it won't suck that bad.

  7. Not hopeful. Directors credits include Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival, BR2049 I rented and quit half way through in disgust. And Arrival was forgettable, in fact I've already forgotten it.
At least it's WB not Disney.

  9. Looks... gritty. And pink floyd for trailer music. Can't wait for it to go to video, and then streaming... for free.
