Bob called in sick and stiffed his co-workers one too many times

  2. That’s how all those stories about people being encased in concrete on large projects came about.
    My father told we that they used to employ bums and winos for laborers. Before a large pour, someone would nail a pair of boots to the form. Then start a story about how poor old “Bob fell in, and they couldn’t stop the pour.
    Then they would watch the laborers strip the forms, and laughed when they would take off in a panic.
    All those stories you’ve heard are false.
