And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

well gee bogside, the Wrights Bros. were out there using scientific method when a bunch of other guys and gals were jumping off of large rocks with umbrellas in hand and hoping for the best. But, they were a coupla bicycle purveyors who didn't have a clue about internal combustion engines and had to hire it out. Now, Glenn Curtis built and raced motorcycles along with automobiles, seaplanes, the very first USN carrier aircraft, invented the aileron control system(which is a story in it's own right) engineered, designed and built a series of powerful air and liquid cooled aircraft engines including the power plants for the Curtis JN-1 Jenny trainer, B-29, Lockheed Constellation, the Douglas DC-7, the B-25, the DC-3/C-47, the Curtis C-46, Martin AM-1 and Douglas A-1 Skyraider not to mention turbojets he had a hand in. In the world of practical engineering, Glenn Curtis stands in the front row.
