And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Just because people get a little hot under the collar is no excuse for them to destroy or steal YOUR property. Yeah, 'Roof Korean' is just being pro-active (LOOTER - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !) and protecting what you own and/or are responsible for.
I had just come out of the field after a two week patrol. No idea what was going on in the world. Our Platoon commander came in and explained what was happening. We were told to clean our gear, clean ourselves, were issued ammunition and told that the plan was to helo lift us into LA to serve as Observation Posts to relay to the cops what was happening and where the crowd was heading. The rounds? 5 rounds per man and 25 rounds for the SAW (squad automatic weapon) for "self-protection". 6 man team, 50 rounds, against the crowds of LA. Problem was....I had tickets to see Van Halen in San Diego that night! We were allowed to go to the concert but had to check in every 1/2 hour to be briefed on the situation (days before cell phones). As we left Camp Pendleton, 1st LAR (Light Armored Recon) was lined up with their 8 wheeled vehicles on the off ramps ready to head north to LA. Checked in just before we went into the show and was told we were stood down and not heading into the fray. Concert was awesome by the way!!
