And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. Valles Marineris: The Grand Canyon of Mars
The grand valley extends over 3,000 kilometers long, spans as much as 600 kilometers across, and delves as much as 8 kilometers deep.
5 miles deep means the atmosphere at the bottom will be a bit thicker but likely more CO2 than O2. Might be a nice spot for a base with an good elevator to the surface. of the fissure is in the bedrock, glass over a portion and you have your dome protected from radiation.
1,864 statute miles long, 373 miles wide, 5 miles deep. Where's the overlook?
