And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
OK, which is riskiest? (1) Motorcycling on a snowy road, (2) ballooning in a thunderstorm, or (3) sliding out over a snow-covered, icy log over a freezing river below? (I do hope those balloons were photoshopped... that looks nuts to me.)
LTA into the face of a thunderstorm is a really bad day happening. at least a smart motorcyclist can pull over to the side of the road. in both cases, foresight would have indicated it was time to hunker down and let some time pass before hand. to say now was too late is not a true statement for the biker. for the balloonist, it is the end of the line if they get pulled into that cauldron of shredding up and down drafts; a most frightening way to get on Darwin's Lists/removed from the gene pool. Drowning under river ice doesn't seem appealing to many people who know of the possibility of it happening to them. But, there is always the inept and misinformed people and animals willing to try anything once that will keep us all entertained.
I loved the ray of sunshine going vertical. The moron on the log over the river had fallen off his body would still be missing... A Darwin contender if there ever was. I had a riding mule that I could get to walk over a bridge like that pack mule, she was smart and cautious as long as I let her have the lead with situations like that, I miss that old gal, she was a racking mule and it was like riding a Cadillac. I would love to have that old Ford Step side, especially if it also had a straight 6 and a 4-speed.
I think the turbo Vette engine replacement of that original motor would be better than the twin tractor wing mount setup. A turboprop might be better yet, although I suspect fuel burn would be the biggest drawback. That, and having it pushing the redline during most all flight conditions. ISTR it has some fairly restrictive limitations on speed.
This FOR is, I think, one of the best I've seen.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post.

I don't think I've ever seen a Puerto Rico licence plate before!
