And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Why do I think that somehow, Trump is on that chopper?
I landed on the building (safely) twice in September 1973. I lived in North NJ at the time and I was flying Pan Am from JFK to Shannon Ireland. Pan Am owned NY Airways was running a scheduled Helo flight from Newark Airport to JFK with a stop on the Pan Am building for an extra $75 each way I opted for it. The weather was fantastic and the views magnificent. 4 years later the service was halted when a NY Airways Sikorsky crashed on top of the building killing several people.
Took that ride once about a year before they discontinued the service. It made ones stomach drop like a stone when looking out the window as the pilot lifted off a foot or two from the roof then just "rolled" over the edge of the building.
Crossing open pacific ship to ship in a CH47 was nothing in comparison.
The first thing that came to my mind was Eddie Albert in the film "Head Office" seen at the 15 second mark in the trailer.....

ReplyDeleteMy Dad's office in the Chrysler building overlooked the Pan Am building. Big thrill watching choppers land on the roof.
