And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Even though I was a kid when the Munsters were on TV I always thought that The Addams Family was a lot better. Another great comedy that Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis were in was Car 54, Where Are You? A classic that still holds up today......
I concur. I also thought the Addams family was better. All the makeup was just not my cup of teach . Plus Morticia was hotter than Lily. Although Marilyn was pretty hot
I recently watched "Munster, Go Home!" the 1966 movie, which was disappointing to me as it seemed to plod instead of soar; with mostly sight gags that were a funny-once, but not when they're repeated over & over. Lousy script, too.
I agree that The Addams Family films are much better, I still get a laugh from them!
I loved Sky King! And yes, Penny was hot. I also liked Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges. And Roy Rogers. Boys in those days had plenty of good examples to look up to.
The Munsters, who lived at 1313 mockingbird lane.--Ray
ReplyDeleteGee, and here I thought it was the Democrat Party Soap Opera circa 2019

Loved Granpa's hot rod.
ReplyDelete"Can you hurry Grandpa?".
"Sure. Let me get it outta first gear!".
As long as we're going down TV memory lane my favorite "non-ghoul" Saturday morning show in the 1950s was "Sky King".
ReplyDeleteAnd you probably had the biggest crush on Penny......
