Kinda like Switzerland: Missouri lawmaker introduces bill that would require AR-15 ownership

I'd love to see something similar her in California.  It's power to the people, and away from the
government, which is the direction it ought to always go.

Imagine the boost to the economy from gun/ammo/range bag sales.  Plus, it would put a
big crimp on crime.
In addition, McDaniel filed a bill that would require every person 21 years of age and older to own a handgun if they are legally able to. That bill, House Bill 1052, was introduced two days prior to House Bill 1108.
But alas, according to the Missouri House of Representatives website, neither bill is currently scheduled for a hearing or on a House calendar.

  1. Nice gesture, but that will be as far as it goes.

  2. We should be more like peaceful Switzerland. Require that all citizens be armed and trained.

  3. I'd like to see voluntary basic pistol classes offered in HS and/or college, and encouragement for anyone to experience what it's all about before criticizing gun ownership. But to compel people to own a firearm is, to me, no more tolerable a stance than to prohibit same.

  5. we know it won't even make it into a committee let alone a floor vote. still, it gives one hope when a politician such as this can be elected in a state such as that.
I like my 95 year old mothers idea: give everyone a pistol and one bullet. only one. to use as they will. guaranteed to create a polite society. her idea, not mine. don't shoot the messenger...
