Gigi Wu, 36, fell Saturday into a gorge 100-feet deep in Taiwan's Yu Shan National Park. Wu called a friend for help via satellite phone after the fall and was unable to move due to lower body injuries, CNN reported. Rescuers began searching for Wu the next morning but were unable to reach her because of weather conditions. A helicopter was also deployed in the search but could not land where Wu fell.
She basically froze to death.
Sometimes you should simply decline to tempt fate. I guess all the attention she got doing this was too much to resist.
Always take a sweater, or two, when trudging about in the mountains. Mountains, and the bush in general, are not benevolent and in my opinion are actually ready to pounce on the foolish and unprepared.
