1320 pound magnetic lifter. Ok, it's expensive, and probably dangerous, but I bet it would be a lot of fun. Don't lose a finger to it though.

  1. Used to work for a CATERPILLAR subsidiary. A co-worker was attempting to lift a steel plate off of a palette with a magnet similar to this hanging from an overhead lift. However, instead of lifting the plate straight up, he was trying to do it at an angle that kept increasing. (I think he was trying to use the magnet to drag the plate from one spot to another.) Eventually, the angle was so great, that the magnet broke contact with the plate -- and swung straight up between his legs, launching him up into the air and throwing him back about fifteen feet or so. He left work that day in an ambulance, and had to have surgery to keep from spending the rest of his life as a eunuch.
